Elizabeth (Liz) Wynn
My interest in the body and how it moves began at about the age of 12 when I found a yoga book of my mother's. A stubborn back injury at the age of 15 then taught me how debilitating and personality changing protracted pain can be; and how quickly resolved with the appropriate therapy.
This interest in anatomy and body function inspired me to study remedial massage and then to investigate additional techniques and therapies when I realised that I needed other skills to achieve the best treatment results.
Through personal experience I then discovered the amazing power of acupuncture to stimulate the body's own healing processes and finally, having used acupuncture for over 10 years to address all my own muscular problems, allergies, headaches and menstrual issues, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study it myself; all of which has led to the qualifications below.
I have a first class degree BSc(Hons) Acupuncture from Lincoln University and received the Dean's Award for the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences for the consistently high standard of my clinical and academic work.
Since graduating, I have continued my studies and taken courses covering:
Auricular Acupuncture (including Battlefield Acupuncture for pain relief)
The assessment and treatment of Musculo-Skeletal conditions
Acupuncture for Pain Relief
Fertility and Menstrual Issues
Channel Theory
Balance Method
Facial Revitalisation
I am a full member of the British Acupuncture Council, a body which ensures high standards of training and continued professional development. All members must follow a code of ethics and are fully insured.
I undertook a general massage course in 1986, followed by training in Remedial Massage with the Northern Institute in 1991-1992. Since then, I have continued my
study of anatomy and bodywork with various courses.
